Finding Good Staff

By ACS Bookshop on July 23, 2014 in Business & Careers and Jobs | comments
Getting applicants for a job is the easy part. Choosing the best applicant for a job however; is a a challenge for any employer.

For some employers, recruitment may seem straight forward. If you have the assessment criteria, and data from applications, CV's and interviews, surely it is a logical next step to choose your personnel?
What could go wrong?
Unfortunately, choosing staff members is not quite so straight forward. In fact, it can be one of the most difficult choices any business has to make. For every one choice that you get right, you might get three, four, or five wrong.

Hi I'm Leonie from accounts and I'd like to share one of my healthy experiments.
I'm trying to cook free of preservative/artificial colouring/artificial flavouring/wheat and low GI.
Why you might ask? Well I have too many aches and pains and I want to eat low inflammatory foods and still have yummy food to eat.
The almond cake has passed the test around the office.
I change the fruit in it depending on what I have in the fridge or what is in season.

  • Arranging training
  • Matching skills to roles
  • Problems in the physical working environment
  • Adaptation to change
  • Motivation and incentive systems
  • Poor productivity and staff motivation

The psychology profession isn't big enough to employ all the people who study and graduate in psychology. There are however, many different areas of employment where a knowledge of psychology can be an advantage; for example:

  • Counselling
  • Management
  • Human Resources
  • Sales and Marketing .
  • Client/Customer Service
  • Care Professionals
  • Teaching
  • Communications
  • Police Force/Border control
  • Coaching
