Caring for plants grown in pots has both advantages and disadvantages.
They can dry out more easily, and run out of nutrients because their root zone cannot keep spreading deeper and wider.
On the plus side though; you can move them around, to put them in a warmer or cooler position at different times of the year; and if they are unsightly, they can be moved out of sight until they rejuvinate.
Pot plants need to be repotted regularly and if you do it correctly, you can keep plants looking good in containers indefinitely.
